Lahore Qalandars gained two points from their victory and are now leading the PSL 10 points table.

At the Pindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday, Lahore Qalandars defeated Quetta Gladiators by 79 runs to earn their first victory of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 10.

Due to an all-around bowling effort by the Lahore Qalandars, Quetta’s batting lineup collapsed under pressure as they chased a lofty total of 220 runs and were bowled out for just 140.

Shaheen Afridi, the captain of Lahore Qalandar, gave his team the ideal start by dismissing Saud Shakeel in the opening over. Hassan Nawaz was next dismissed for just one by Asif Afridi, and Shaheen struck once more to force Finn Allen to return for a duck. Within three overs, Quetta was suffering at 9-3.

The Gladiators had some hope after a brief partnership between Rilee Rossouw and Kusal Mendis, who hit a fast 28 off 14 balls before Haris Rauf ended the 45-run stand. Rossouw kept the scoreboard moving with an aggressive 44 off 19 deliveries, hitting four boundaries and four sixes, but he too was removed soon after by debutant Rishad Hossain, who took his first PSL wicket. The middle order was unable to hold on for long, as Sikandar Raza removed Shoaib Malik (14) and Akeal Hosein in the same over, while Rishad returned to remove Mohammad Amir and Abrar Ahmed, finishing with three wickets. Asif Afridi then completed the innings, sealing a resounding victory for the Qalandars.

Lahore had a good outing with the bat earlier when they were batting first. Fakhar Zaman and Abdullah Shafique put up a strong 56-run partnership despite opener Mohammad Naeem being dismissed for 10 runs early on. Before falling to Akeal Hosein, Shafique scored 37 runs.

After leading the innings with 67 off 39 balls, Fakhar proceeded to reach his 20th PSL half-century. Daryl Mitchell, who contributed a composed, undefeated 37, provided him with strong support. Before leaving in short succession, the two put on an 80-run collaboration.

The last push for Lahore came from Sam Billings. The English batsman helped his club reach a huge 219/6 with an incredible 50* off just 19 deliveries, the fastest fifty in Qalandars’ PSL history.

Faheem Ashraf and Usman Tariq both claimed one wicket for Quetta, while Abrar Ahmed and Akeal Hosein each took two.

Lahore Qalandars gained two points from their victory and are now leading the PSL 10 points standings. After their second game, the Quetta Gladiators are currently in fourth place.
