According to Indian media, the plans for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy have been finalized.

According to Indian media, plans for the forthcoming ICC Champions Trophy have been finalized, and a “hybrid model” of hosting would be used. Sources claim that the Champions Trophy would have a special format in which India will play their matches in Dubai while Pakistan will host the competition.

According to the sources, Pakistan and India would not play one other on their home soil for the next three years. The hybrid model is being suggested as a means of avoiding the continuing political problems between the two countries, and this arrangement is reportedly part of a larger understanding between the two cricket boards.

According to reports from the Indian media, India will play its matches in Dubai rather than Pakistan, which would be the official host of the Champions Trophy. With the goal of ensuring the tournament runs smoothly while respecting political sensitivities, this would be the first significant ICC event to be organized under such a paradigm.

It is also significant to remember that India and Sri Lanka will co-host the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, which has made scheduling and venue selection for future ICC tournaments much more difficult.

According to sources, the PCB has adamantly demanded that the official hosting agreement contain all of the terms that were agreed upon. To prevent any misunderstandings or disagreements in the future, the PCB is requesting that the finalized arrangements—especially those pertaining to venue allocations and travel restrictions—be formally recorded in the host agreement.

India first declined to travel to Pakistan for the tournament, raising doubts about the event’s feasibility and creating uncertainty surrounding the Champions Trophy. The PCB responded by taking a firm stand and offering a solution to fix the problem and guarantee the event ran without a hitch.

Indian media sources indicate that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has now approved the suggested hybrid model for the Champions Trophy, even though the BCCI has not yet formally confirmed its approval of the formula.

The 2024 ICC Champions Trophy may represent a dramatic shift in the way international cricket competitions are held in politically delicate areas if these rumors are true. In the event of diplomatic issues, the hybrid model might establish a precedent for future competitions by permitting nations to share or co-host venues.

With more information anticipated to be made public in the upcoming weeks, the PCB and BCCI are expected to work toward finalizing the host agreement while negotiations continue.
