2025 ICC Champions Trophy will be hosted by Pakistan in February.
Mohsin Naqvi, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), promised early visas on Friday to Indian cricket fans who want to travel to Pakistan for the ICC Champions Trophy the following year. The 2025 Champions Trophy will be hosted by Pakistan in February. For security considerations, there are still concerns regarding the Indian team’s trip to the neighboring nation.
At a meeting with a group of American Sikh pilgrims, Naqvi gave the promises. Newspapers reported that Naqvi, who is also the Federal Interior Minister, stated, “We will be keeping a special quota of tickets for Indian fans and we will try to make the visa issuance policy brisk.”
According to Naqvi, PCB is in favor of Indian supporters traveling to Pakistan to attend the India vs. Pakistan game in Lahore. The ICC mega event is set to take place in Pakistan in February and March of 2025, but the organization has not yet announced the tournament schedule because they are awaiting word on whether the Indian government would permit their team to travel to Pakistan for the event.
Rajeev Shukla, vice-president of the BCCI, had earlier stated that the government has not yet made a decision regarding India’s attendance at the major event in Pakistan.
“As of yet, no decision has been made. However, we always ask the authorities for authorization before going on a worldwide tour. “The government has the authority to determine whether or not our team should travel to any country,” Shukla told PTI.
“In this case (also), whatever the government will decide, we will abide by that,” he stated. The Indian cricket team’s trip to Pakistan has already been questioned.
Indian cricket team did not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup last year. In the end, Sri Lanka served as co-hosts of the tournament, which was conducted under a hybrid format.
