The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to start on February 19.
Mitchell Marsh, an all-rounder for Australia, will not be participating in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy because of persistent lower back problems. After the injury did not adequately react to rehabilitation efforts, the National Selection Panel (NSP) reached the decision after consulting with the Australian men’s medical team.
The NSP decided to give Marsh an extended time of rest and rehabilitation because he has been experiencing lower back pain in recent weeks. Marsh will now take some time off to concentrate on his rehabilitation as part of his recovery plan before returning to play.
To select Marsh’s successor in the Champions Trophy squad, the NSP will convene shortly. By Wednesday, February 12, the tournament’s final squads must be submitted.
Pakistan, the host and reigning champions, will play New Zealand in the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Karachi’s National Bank Stadium on February 19.
