Three Champions Trophy matches will be held in the National Stadium in Karachi,as per the ICC schedule.

The National Stadium in Karachi is undergoing partial renovations and upgrading as part of the ongoing preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy. Nevertheless, despite early deadlines, the construction project is still unfinished. Originally scheduled to be finished by December 15 and then extended to December 31, the first phase of renovations is still ongoing.

Following a Governing Board meeting in which PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi approved the suggested plan, the renovation work got underway. Although the infrastructure of the five-story skyscraper is finished, several floors still need completion. In addition, work has begun to remove the fence surrounding the ground.

Renovation Details

Ground Floor: The ICC’s Anti-Corruption and Anti-Doping Units, as well as match officials, will have rooms built.

First Floor: Two dressing rooms will be constructed.

Second and Third Floors:There will be hospitality boxes 

Fourth Floor: Work is planned to build a media center.

Additional Features: The first phase includes installing contemporary LED lighting and replacing the outdated scoreboard with new digital screens.

According to PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, construction is anticipated to go on through January. Further advances will be covered in later stages. The total budget for the remodeling project is PKR 3.5 billion. 

Three Champions Trophy matches will be held in the National Stadium in Karachi,as per the ICC schedule. A tri-nation ODI series between South Africa, New Zealand, and Pakistan has been scheduled at the venue to guarantee preparedness. A final evaluation of the stadium’s preparations will take place during the third game on February 12 and the final game on February 14.

–  The Quaid-e-Azam Trophy final, which was initially slated to start on January 2, has been rescheduled to UBL Ground due to ongoing construction.

– The January 17–21 first Test match against the West Indies has been moved to Multan. 

The improvements are intended to guarantee that the National Stadium satisfies global requirements for the esteemed ICC Champions Trophy, which is scheduled to start on February 19.
