According to Dr. Redfern, the test reports will be forwarded to the PCBs medical panel for additional assessment.
Saim Ayub has made great progress since suffering an ankle injury during the second Test match against South Africa.
Dr. David Redfern in London reports that Saim’s ankle is healing nicely and that he can now put weight on his leg.
According to Dr. Redfern, the test reports will be forwarded to the medical panel of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for additional assessment.
Saim Ayub went to a London clinic Yesterday for a second evaluation of his ankle with assistant coach Azhar Mahmood.
“Thank God, the situation has significantly improved,” Azhar Mahmood said, expressing thankfulness for the progress. The medical panel will decide whether surgery is necessary and when it might take place. Soon, the examination report will be accessible.
Dr. Jeyaseelan, however, suggested that Ayub take a six-month hiatus, with additional consultations from a group of experts who would evaluate more reports and X-rays and decide on the next course of action for his recuperation.
Ayub’s participation in the upcoming Champions Trophy is still up in the air, but more discussions with London-based medical experts will determine whether or not he is included in the tentative squad.
Ayub’s recuperation has been closely monitored by PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, who has made sure he gets the best treatment possible.
As a “valuable asset” to Pakistan cricket, Naqvi stated his unwavering support for Ayub and promised to offer all the resources required for his recuperation.
In addition, he wished Ayub a speedy recovery and promised to stay in close contact with the medical professionals treating him.
