Ponting emphasized that Pakistan’s recent performance cannot be disregarded, even though Australia and India are still the favorites to win the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
According to former Australian captain Ricky Ponting, Australia and India will play each other in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy final.
Ponting emphasized the strength of both teams in his remarks on the ICC Review, saying that they are serious competitors for the tournament title because of their talented players, recent results, and ICC event history.
He did, however, caution that Pakistan might present a significant threat to both teams.
“Pakistan has been playing some excellent ODI cricket recently,” he stated. “We know that predicting Pakistan’s performance in big tournaments is never easy, but it seems like they have improved in many areas.”
