Babar Azam’s performance in PSL 10 has drawn criticism, with many calling him out of form.

Hasan Ali, the vice captain of the Karachi Kings, has spoken out in favor of former Pakistani captain Babar Azam, urging patience and supporting the batter as he recovers from his present difficult period.

At a press conference held Monday after Karachi Kings’ defeat against Lahore Qalandars in the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL), Hasan Ali expressed his unwavering support for Babar Azam.

Babar’s performance in PSL 10 has drawn criticism, with many calling him out of form. Hasan, however, brushed off the criticism and reiterated Babar’s importance to the country.

In reference to his previous statement referring to Babar as a “king,” Hasan stated, “Babar is our best player, and he will bounce back.” “We established Babar as king, and we are overthrowing him as well. I’m sorry if what I said, “The King will deliver,” offended anyone. However, my position has not altered.

Hasan also talked about Karachi Kings’ recent troubles, acknowledging that their loss was caused by a collapse in their top order.

“The pressure increased, we lost early wickets, and we were unable to form partnerships,” he stated.

The fast bowler, who last played for Pakistan in May 2024, also discussed the tendency for players to receive negative feedback, especially on social media.

He made reference to incidents during Pakistan’s tour of New Zealand earlier this year when he remarked, “Critics for improvement are welcome, but when families are singled out, it impacts everyone.”

“I am aware that we are constantly being watched as public figures. It is our responsibility to respond with performances,” he continued.

“I’m still young and believe in my ability,” Hasan said, reinforcing his resolve to rejoin the national team. My worldwide future will be determined by my performance here.

The 30-year-old is still a prominent voice in both domestic and franchise cricket and was a member of Pakistan’s 2017 Champions Trophy-winning team.
