Both players were convicted of violating ICC Code of Conduct Article 2.5.
Following an altercation on the field during the second Test between India and Australia, Mohammad Siraj of India and Travis Head of Australia were each fined 20% of their match fees. There was a verbal altercation between the two players following Siraj bowling Head.
Article 2.5 of the ICC Code of Conduct, which addresses behaviors or gestures that could elicit a violent reaction, was violated by both players. Furthermore, Head was punished for critiquing an umpire’s call under Article 2.13. Both players have received one demerit point each in addition to the penalty.
Australia put on a strong show in the match, defeating India by 10 wickets to tie the series at one. India’s batting order was completely destroyed by Australia’s bowlers, led by Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc, and the openers easily chased the target on the fourth day.
Beginning on December 14, the Gabba will host the third Test of the series.
