To have his injured back scanned before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Bumrah has arrived at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
According to Indian media, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah has arrived at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) to get scans done on his injured back. This injury, which Bumrah got during the final Test of India’s most recent five-match series against Australia, casts question on his readiness to play in the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
As the medical staff of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) evaluates the extent of his injury, Bumrah, a vital member of India’s Champions Trophy team, will remain in the NCA for two to three days. NCA specialists will present their findings to the men’s senior selection committee, which is chaired by Ajit Agarkar, after the examination is finished.
It was initially anticipated that the pacer would miss the opening two One-Day Internationals (ODIs) of the three-match series against England. In order to improve his match fitness before to the Champions Trophy, there were expectations that he might make a comeback for the last game.
“Bumrah has been advised to rest for five weeks and will not be available for the first two ODIs against England,” India’s chief selector said during the selection announcement.
“We are awaiting his fitness and will receive further information from the medical staff in early February,” He added.
Bumrah’s recuperation will determine whether or not he is allowed to compete in the Champions Trophy. Harshit Rana is expected to take his place if he is unable to return to full fitness in a timely manner.
