Today’s first ODI is scheduled to start at 5:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time.
Today in Paarl, the first match of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series between South Africa and Pakistan will take place.
The Pakistani team is ready for exact retribution for their T20 series defeat. It is noteworthy that South Africa prevailed 2-0 in the three-match T20 series, with rain canceling the final game.
Mohammad Rizwan, the captain of Pakistan’s cricket team, said the team will prepare for the Champions Trophy as they approach the ODI series. “South Africa has momentum on their side, but Pakistan has also won two series in a row, so we are expecting a tough contest,” Rizwan stated.
“The T20 results did not meet our expectations, but we learn from our mistakes and move on,” he continued. We are certain that we will perform well in the ODI series.
Notably, Temba Bavuma, the captain of South Africa, will miss the opening ODI because of workload management. Aiden Markram will captain the team in the first game while he is away.
In terms of the two teams’ past performance, they have participated in 83 ODI matches together. Of these matches, South Africa has won 52, Pakistan has won 30, and one match has ended in a draw. Today’s first ODI is scheduled to start at 5:00 PM Pakistan Standard Time.
