PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi gave commemorative caps and plaques to the two legendary cricket players.

Former captains Inzamam-ul-Haq and Misbah-ul-Haq were formally inducted into the Hall of Fame by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Saturday in honor of their exceptional contributions to the country’s men’s cricket team.

During the opening game of the tri-nation ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand at the Gaddafi Stadium, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi gave the two iconic cricket players commemorative caps and plaques. The ecstatic fans gave Inzamam and Misbah a hearty round of applause as they proudly strolled around the stadium in their commemorative caps.

Along with Saeed Anwar and Mushtaq Ahmed, who have not yet been formally inducted into the esteemed list, Inzamam and Misbah were members of the PCB Hall of Fame Class of 2024. The outstanding contributions of Pakistan’s cricketing giants are honored by the Hall of Fame.

Stars like Abdul Qadir, A.H. Kardar, Fazal Mahmood, Hanif Mohammad, Imran Khan, Javed Miandad, Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Younis Khan, and Zaheer Abbas have already inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame, which was created to honor the accomplishments of cricketing super heroes.

Inzamam-ul-Haq, who has amassed 11,739 runs in One Day Internationals (ODIs), as the top run scorer for Pakistan, conveyed his sincere appreciation for the honor. With 8,830 runs to his credit, he is also Pakistan’s third-highest run scorer in Test cricket.

“Being inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame, together with a number of outstanding cricket players from my generation and beyond, is an immense honor for me. It is really unique to be acknowledged by Pakistan Cricket’s parent organization, and I hope that this initiative will continue to motivate cricket players of the present and future generations,” Inzamam said.

Equally honored was Misbah-ul-Haq, one of Pakistan’s most esteemed captains. The accolade, according to Misbah, who guided Pakistan to the top of the ICC Men’s Test Team Rankings in 2016, was “humbling.”

“I am deeply honoured and humbled to be inducted into the PCB Hall of Fame, joining a distinguished group of Pakistan’s finest cricketers who have not only excelled in the game but have also elevated the country’s image on the global stage,” Misbah said.

Inzamam and Misbah entry into the PCB Hall of Fame is a just reward for their enormous contributions to Pakistani cricket.
