Rashid Khan, a spinner for Afghanistan, surpassed the renowned West Indian all-rounder Dwayne Bravo to become the leading wicket-taker in men’s Twenty20 cricket.
Rashid accomplished this incredible feat while playing for MI Cape Town versus Paarl Royals in the SA20 Qualifier 1. During the game, he claimed two wickets for 33 runs in his four overs.
Rashid and Bravo were level at 631 wickets at the beginning of the game, but he took the lead when he removed Dunith Wellalage of Sri Lanka in the tenth over. By dismissing Dinesh Karthik of India in the seventeenth over, Rashid increased his lead even further.
Rashid Khan has now surpassed Bravo, who has 631 wickets from 546 innings, with 633 wickets in 457 innings.

“I never gave it any thought. I wouldn’t have believed it if you had asked me ten years ago if I would make it here. Being from Afghanistan and being at the top of the table is a proud feeling. One of the top T20 bowlers is DJ Bravo. It’s a tremendous honor, and I’m excited to keep going,” Rashid concluded.
