Sarfaraz Ahmed emphasized the benefit of playing at home while expressing his faith in the team’s strength.

Sarfaraz Ahmed, the former captain, discussed his thoughts on Pakistan’s chances of winning the trophy and made a comparison between the present team and the ones that won the Champions Trophy in 2017.

Sarfaraz Ahmed emphasized the benefit of playing at home while expressing his faith in the team’s strength in an exclusive chat with Cricket Pakistan.

“The team appears to be very strong, and they have a significant edge while playing at home. They have a thorough understanding of their own conditions, which will be very important. On paper, this team really appears stronger when compared to the 2017 Champions Trophy-winning group,” he stated.

Sarfaraz emphasized important players like Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam, highlighting their development since the 2017 competition.

“Babar Azam is currently a top batsman. Once a rookie, Fakhar Zaman has developed into a far more seasoned player. Although Babar was still getting his bearings in 2017, he is currently Pakistan’s best batsman on the international scene. Sarfaraz said, “Fakhar has also become a very good player.

With reference to players like Saud Shakeel, Salman Ali Agha, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Naseem Shah, the former skipper also lauded the present team’s talent and depth.

“The team also features rising stars and power hitters: Naseem Shah adds extra strength, Haris Rauf is there, Salman Ali Agha is playing well, Shaheen Shah Afridi is spearheading the speed attack, and Saud Shakeel is in excellent form. This squad appears to be quite well-balanced on paper,” he added.

Sarfaraz underlined that the secret to success is to keep up the momentum and remain focused.

“The team’s ability to keep up its momentum is now crucial. The trophy will return to Pakistan if they do that, insha’Allah,” he said.

Beginning on February 19 and ending on March 9, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 will take place. The first game will be between New Zealand and Pakistan, the reigning champions. The match between India and Pakistan, which is scheduled for February 23, will be one of the most anticipated games.
